The Waterfront

The redevelopment of the SW waterfront promises a new cultural center for D.C..This $1.9 billion mixed-use project spans across 27 acres of land and along more than 50 acres of the Potomac River. Construction will include 140,000 sq ft. of retail and restaurant space, a 135,000 sq ft. multi-purpose entertainment venue, 3 luxury hotels, a 650-unit apartment building and 225 condominium units. The development of new piers, village greens and bike trails will provide recreational activities and highlight D.C.’s marine history. The Wharf’s location is within walking distance of two Metro lines and minutes from national monuments and museums. Upon its completion in 2021 The Wharf will be D.C.’s most anticipated destination.
